Either they have been taken out in the past or you may not have been born with them. Since they are at the back of the most, sometimes they don’t play an important functional role and are not always used.
Gum pain from wisdom teeth usually result from constant food packing and an accumulation of plaque around the gum. This can cause the gum to become inflamed and swollen. The resulting issue is constant pain, halitosis and pain that my radiate along your face or jaw.
You will need a consultation with us first. Treatment usually falls into the following categories (or a combination):
- Antibiotics
- Debridement around the gum
- Removal of your wisdom tooth
- Smoothing the wisdom tooth
- Smoothing the opposing tooth to stop it hurting your gum when you bite down

We will ensure that you are comfortable and all treatment, including any injections that you may need, is done with a gentle technique. You have the option to be sedated for you wisdom tooth removal.
