A dental implant is an artificial replacement for a missing tooth. It is made up of titanium metal and takes the place of your missing tooth. A porcelain crown is usually attached on top of the titanium implant.

If the dentist thinks your mouth is healthy to have implants, he may take a CT scan (we have the machine in-house). A CT scan is a 3D image of your jawbone. A CT scan will ascertain how much jawbone you have to house your implant screw.

If your case is straight-forward, you can now have the implant anchor screw placed. You now wait 3 months for the bone to grow around the implant. We now start the construction of the final tooth. You can choose which colour crown you want. 

Advanced implant cases

The above prices are for routine cases. A bespoke treatment plan can only be given after the dentist has assessed your case. We also provide bone grafting, sinus lifts and soft tissue manipulation.

Implant & same day tooth

It may be possible to have your bad tooth removed, an implant screw placed and a same day tooth placed which is anchored on top of the implant screw.

Bone grafting

If some of the threads of the implant screw are showing and not covered with bone, bone grafting can usually be done to cover these exposed threads. This situation may occur in thin bony ridges or in dense bone following a tooth extraction. We use synthetic bone graft (man-made/not from animal sources). This bone graft turns into natural bone after 3 months. This usually coincides nicely with the time the implant is ready to have the final crown.

Bone grafting can also be used in the maxillary sinus to convert the “empty” space into bone, into which an implant screw can be placed.

Internal sinus lift

In some clinical cases, the implant doctor may judge it to be beneficial to protrude the implant into the sinus to get more bone around the implant. This may be supplemented with bone grafting. This procedure is safe but we will give you the necessary information to make an informed decision before any type of treatment.

External sinus lift + Bone grafting

In the upper molar region, the bone can recede and there simply isn’t adequate bone to even place an implant. This is where this minor surgical procedure comes into play. Bone graft material can safely be placed into the sinus and a period of of 3-4 months is observed for the bone graft to mature and become part of your body. An implant screw can then be placed.

Patients who require this type of augmentation procedure are usually those with advanced periodontal (gum) disease and the jaw bone has shrunk or when excessive bone loss has occurred following an infection or tooth removal.

Soft tissue manipulation

This is an advanced surgical procedure in which may make the tooth as natural as possible when it emerges from the gum.

If you have loose or decayed teeth which cannot be fixed, these can be removed very gently, under sedation and replaced with fixed implant teeth ON THE SAME DAY.
