These are thin tooth-coloured shells that are hand crafted adhere to the front of your teeth. They can be used instead of a crown if your tooth is strong and healthy. Veneers are an excellent option for treating chipped or discoloured teeth to enhance your new smile. This treatment can also be used to eliminate gaps and spaces between teeth.
Treatment involves removing a very thin layer from your teeth and taking an impression (mould) over the top. These are then sent to a ceramicist technician to fabricate the bespoke veneers. You will be fitted with temporaries whilst you are waiting- this usually take about two weeks.
We only give the best option to patient when it comes to dentistry and don’t like to confuse our patients with sub-optimal choices. We currently use the Empress Emax (glass porcelain) material to optimise the aesthetics of your new smile. There are other materials available; our dentist will advise you on what is best for you
This cosmetic treatment is an ideal solution for chipped, uneven, spaced or discoloured teeth. If you would like permanent white teeth, then veneers are the solution for you. Your dentist will ensure he chooses the right colour for your veneers so that you have a natural smile: nothing yellow but at the same time we don’t want to choose brilliant white!
If you follow a good oral-hygiene routine, your veneers will be with you for many years to come. Good dental hygiene will extend the life of your new smile, so brush and floss regularly and visit the dentist for your regular check-ups.
If you have a tendency to clench or grind your teeth, your dentist may recommend that you wear a soft gum shield at night to cushion your new teeth from excessive grinding forces whilst you sleep.
